Tug Fender.
MAX Groups Marine is a trusted supplier of tug boat fenders from M-shaped fenders, W-fenders to Cylindrical Tug Fenders. High durability, strong material characteristics and great versatility are among the key features of such fenders. Installed on usually the bow and stern of tugboats, they act as as the primary protective bumper and point of contact during tugboat push operations. Some even call them ‘pushing fenders’. Aside from D-shaped fenders and Keyhole Fenders, there are still a couple of options for tug boats.
Tug fenders are required to perform even under rough and severe conditions.
Three main types: Cylindrical-shaped, W, M
Cylindrical-shaped tugboat fender: Not to be confused with a cylindrical fender typically fixed on a quay/pier wall, this type of tug fender is specifically designed for the bow and stern of the vessel. With a versatile design, simple installation, high resilience, durability and high abrasion performance, this is one of the most popular types fixed on tug vessels. ozone aging and UV exposure resistance
W-shaped: A type of vertical rubber fender on the stern and bow of a tug. Its very reasonable cost and great design versatility that enables it to fit nicely onto the ship’s contours makes it the No.1 choice for many boat owners. In fact, MAX’s W-type is one of our most popular products, shipped worldwide to countries like Indonesia & Singapore, just to name a few.
M-shaped: M-type features a larger flat contact surface area than W, and therefore are often preferred as great ‘pushing fenders’ for bulk carriers and vessel tankers. The larger surface enables lower pressure acted upon the hull, hence minimising the risks of vessel damage.
